Did you find a contact SG?

If not we could try posting on ED's forums see if anyone knows anything.

What exactly is broken?
Could a Warthog extension be the solution?

see here https://www.helisimmer.com/news/meet-mf ... extension/

I think I would try to silver-solder it. (I think the technique is called something different in the UK -- "hard solder" maybe?)

It might be tough to do, though; it looks like low-melting pot metal.

wish id seen this earlier ...
I have crafted one from stainless steel ... not as pretty as these but ... hopefully strong enough to with stand a Godzilla attack.
Crazy ... having done some research its apparent that this is a common design flaw ... that TM simply appear to be ignoring.
Wouldn't send me the part , but tried to sell me the whole handle part.... Thats them lost a customer ... Ill not be buying or recommending TM products.

Now my problem is ( my own fault ) finding the info about some of the wiring colour codes ... since the device is not consistent ... between the base and handle ...
but we'll get there in the end.

I saw a few guys ( videos) trying this ... with varying success ... you have to be very careful ... too much heat and the component , like solder just melts so easily.
The problem is that this piece is made from the wrong material... far to soft and brittle ....

I used steel , washers, wrench socket, tubing and screws ... arch welder and lots of grinding .... actually the finished item looks ok ...

Nice work SG -though I am not a trained engineer in the world of fabrication, I find huge satisfaction in knocking bits together out of odds-and-ends -very gratifying, and of course cost effective!

I imagine in about 1000 years time someone will find your bit of robust work long after the rest has fallen into dust and wonder what bit of junk it used to be a part of! 8-)
