and the video http://theindependent.scot/upl/su25.mp4
Apparently Chad AF ... Missed French C130 .... hit outbuilding ... killed 5 civis

Blimey! Well, the switch was a bit sticky and it just 'sort of went off'...
What sort of rocket was that? They look at bit like a training round?
Lucky no-one had a new hair-parting installed in the event!
-
Read that it killed two children and a couple of adults in the presidents house....
Big ooops!
-
Oh 'eck -just noticed the bit at the bottom of SG's post I missed -that's sad. Although, assuming that's a fuel bowser -it could have gone a 'bit' worse...

Reports suggests s24.
If you look at pylon nearest firemen ... could be.
From the video it looks like an outer pylons on the other wing were where it came from.
In real life .... does an S24 ... need to fly a certain distance/time before self arming ... hence no explosion going through tanker?
-
Hi SG.
Most modern (70's onwards) warheads have a 5 second (ish) arming delay. Not sure about the S24 though as you say with it flying through the tanker and subsequently blowing up in the presidents residence, it would suggest a delay of some kind. Its certainly true of western missiles (ground and air launched).
