I bought in advance but I believe the current release is for 1.5.8 which is the beta? -which I don't have loaded btw.

Hopefully quickly to follow in the main sim!

I have it and despite the fact I don't have properly functional simpit since moving, I've been flying it a bit. It's bloody brilliant but challenging.

Purchased it myself but been too busy drinking, partying and living life to the max. :-)

Edit: Let me know if it's any good. Might play being back in the RN during the Falklands Conflict.

I'm really getting stuck in.  The misses is studying for exams so I'm getting peace to fly a bit.
Need to get online and fly with others interested in learning the ropes.

I can do conventional landings and take offs. Short take offs, but hover and vertical landing is causing me issues.

Can operate the DMT and slave to Mavs and use A2A / Gunpod as well as basic dumb bomb employment using CCIP

I'm loving this wee bird.  8)

Very nice, Jo. I could do with some tuition. Not even sorted key binds or axis yet.

I haven't figured out what to do with the nozzle pos. lever for the HOTAS. Using the pos. hat gives little control and I'm really at odds at binding the thumb stick to it.

OK I got round to sorting an initial controls profile for this, and then watched a YT vid on how to fire it up. About got that sorted I think and then -obviously- I went for a non-briefed flit into the skies with her.

Rolling take-off and landing at this stage, it feels controllable and felt nice -landing wasn't difficult although I came it too fast and left some rubber marks here and there. Enthusiasm got hold and had a go at a STO which went supererbly -up till something like VRS happened and 'I altered the gear' and set sparks flying...

Need to read up how it's done now! Great fun so far.

I now have this on both 1.5 and 2.0 -but will concentrate on learning it in the standard game for now.

Anyone wanting some OL flying anytime? -also can anyone link any especially good vids or tutorials for the thing as it stands?

I have seen several but they don't guide you through the 'whole' for whatever I am looking for, they tend to skit through leaving Q's unanswered etc.

Still, I am fumbling through it bit-by-bit...

Jo and myself had a flit around tonight (30/12) but although fun was had, we had several game probs such as crashes etc. Not sure if this is due to last patch, but it appears so?

Was fun. thanks Archer. First time landing on the carrier. The crashes were frustrating. Wonder if the is a problem using old missions pre patch?

Now why didn't they make a proper British Harrier instead of that cheap USMC knock-off?

Always wanted a really good Harrier sim..... But if it's not a Hawker-Siddeley (or at least a BAe), it's not a Harrier.

:P

I think RAZBAM wanted to produce GR5 / 7 but BAe objected.

Stick an RAF skin on it and you wouldn't know the difference. :)
