VR in 4k in DCS
« on: October 28, 2019, 12:00:10 PM »
I'm running DCS in 4k on all settings maxed out super smooth. A-FE**G-mazing!!
Now my Virtual Reality visual quality is 95% equal to the desktop non-VR version.

How?
 - HP Reverb Pro VR headset   €649
 - Intel i9-9900K + 32Gb RAM + Z390 Gaming X mobo.  €450
 - Gigabyte RTX 2070 Windforce 8G videocard.  €430
 - 512Gb m.2 SSD dedicated exclusively to DCS, and 256GB SSD exclusive for Windows.   €190
 - Thermaltake watercooling  €110
 - MINUS Valve Index €800
Total: €1,000 :-X

I've been flying DCS since Dec-2003 and now for first time ever have a full specced machine capable of running it in full high res 4k, even in VR.  Previously I struggled with underspecced machine, stutter framerates in low setting :o,

I also sold my Valve Index for a very good price, as it cannot compare with the Reverb' 4k resolution.
yersterday' squad flight was the most fun ever, particularly its was the first time ever I joined the server without any lagging, framerates dropping etc etc.. Which i was (sometimes) the cause for the ingame warping..  ::).

My previous rig: i7-4790K with 16 GB + Nivdia GTX 980 ran fine, ad could play ArMa in high res, but.. not DCS.  My computer is msotly used for DCS and now its got the proper treatment :).

anyways.. thanx 4 the attention..

Sounds brilliant Papps -great to hear you're getting the full-show now! BTW your total isn't right surely -all those added up ended over 2600 euros?
